October Birthstone Pendant Necklace – Opal, Gold

A single opal pendant, milky and pale with small flashes of green, set in gold vermeil and hung from a medium 14kt gold filled chain. The chain adjusts between 16 and 18 inches, so you can wear it closer to the collarbone or with a little more drop, whichever feels right.

Opal is one of October's two birthstones, alongside pink tourmaline, which makes this a natural gift for an October birthday, but it works just as well as a way to mark any birth month that matters to you — your own, a child's, or someone close to you.

Each stone is a genuine, natural opal, polished as a smooth cabochon rather than faceted, which lets its play of colour show properly. You may notice small variations in pattern and colour flash from one piece to the next — that's what comes with a real stone rather than a manufactured one. The pendant measures approximately 5mm x 12mm and is finished in gold vermeil (2.5 microns of gold over sterling silver).
